Criminal Defense

Emert Law Firm, LLC offers a unique, client-centered focus to criminal defense. We know that you and your loved ones are going through a very difficult time, and need guidance through a very complicated and intimidating process.

It is our sincere hope that we are called upon early in the trial process, with the ability to attend “investigations,” or “meetings” with the police before charges are assessed, first appearances where the county rules allow, preliminary hearings, and so on, but we meet clients where they are in the trial process. Should you decide to hire us while your case is in a public defender’s or appointed counsel’s office, we know how to help you make the leap. Our attorneys come from different walks of life, and different legal experiences. We use that to our clients’ advantage.

We see just about everything come through our office. We are ready to defend serious violent felonies, multiple count felony cases, misdemeanors, traffic tickets, and, should it be necessary, keep immigration concerns in mind. We have Spanish-speaking paralegals that can handle intake and client concerns and relay them to us and attend court. These paralegals, though, not court-certified interpreters, are savvy to common criminal defense and immigration concerns and are excited to help our clients in and out of court, until it is time for the attorneys to take over.

We practice in multiple counties, including the many counties in the Greater Atlanta Region and the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. We are familiar with how each county functions, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. We see, understand, and can help you navigate what was once an already confusing criminal trial process, even during a global pandemic. In some instances, we find district attorneys and solicitors in certain counties are not responsive at all during the pandemic, and have essentially halted movement on cases regardless of the gradual relaxation of the judicial emergency order. We take that opportunity to gather information and decide how to proceed next for when it comes to trial dates, and file what we can in the meantime to keep your case moving where possible.

Give us a call to set up a free consultation with our attorneys and start moving towards a solution to your criminal case.
